Catalogues that accept bad credit
There's no secret list. What matters is how a catalogue makes its decision. Once you know how to spot that, you can tell in a minute whether applying is worth it.
Two ways of deciding
Score-led: a hard search, then a fixed pass mark. Most well-known catalogue accounts work this way, and a missed payment from three years ago can sink you.
Affordability-led: they look at income, outgoings and whether the payment fits. Old marks count for less than how you're managing now.
Clues on the application page
- It says it uses a "soft search" or "won't affect your credit score".
- It shows a fixed number of payments rather than an ongoing credit limit.
- It asks about your budget, not just your past addresses.
What you'll still need
Proof of who you are, a UK address, a debit card in your own name, and income that covers the payments. Benefits and pension income are often accepted.
